Sam Sand Dunes
Sam sand dunes are indeed one of the most authentic desert dune sites in whole India and truly deserves to be on your list of things to do in Jaisalmer. Here, you find 30 to 60-meter tall sand dunes and many travellers enjoy Desert Safari on camels or jeep. Sam is 45 kilometres west of Jaisalmer city where you can reach by hiring a vehicle. You may further choose to stay in one of many desert camps that are mostly built in 2 to 3 km radius of sand dunes.
Tanot Mata Temple
Established in AD 847, the highly revered Tanot Mata Temple is believed to be Goddess Hinglaj Mata’s incarnation. This is a miraculous temple located in the proximity of Longewala that used to be a battle site during the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak wars.

What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is at 2:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. On the Desert Camp Package, check-out is by 10:00 AM.
Which tents can I book at Thar Resort?
There are three stay options: Luxury Swiss Tent (AC & Private Pool), Luxury Swiss Tent (AC) and Thar Cottage (Non-AC). Each has a comfortable bed and an attached bathroom.
What are the room rates?
Thar Cottage (Non-AC) is ₹3,500, Luxury Swiss Tent (AC) is ₹4,500 and Luxury Swiss Tent (AC & Private Pool) is ₹5,500. An extra bed is ₹1,500 and an extra child is ₹800.
What does the Desert Camp Package include?
The 1 night / 2 days package includes a traditional welcome with aarti and tikka, an overnight stay in a luxury Swiss tent, a sunset camel safari (2 people per camel), evening tea and snacks, a folk dance and music programme, a campfire, a buffet dinner and breakfast.
Can I visit for an evening without staying overnight?
Yes. The Half Day Safari runs from about 5:00 PM to 10:30 PM and includes a sunset camel safari, a folk dance and music show, tea and snacks, and a buffet dinner. Parking is free.
Are jeep safari and quad biking included?
No. Jeep dune bashing and quad biking are available on direct payment.
Is transport from Jaisalmer city available?
Pick-up and drop from Jaisalmer city are available on request.
